India gives good news to Microsoft for Windows 7

Mumbai: Microsoft’s latest operating system Windows 7 which was released on October 22 has shown positive response in the Indian market. After Windows Vista, which apparently was a disaster, Microsoft’s vision of gaining the trust of its lost customers was hanging on the success of Win 7. Windows 7, which like India had its U.S. debut on Oct. 22, generated 82 percent more revenue than Vista’s first few days on the market. Ravi Venkatesan, chairman of Microsoft’s Indian unit, said Microsoft is seeing “good double-digit growth” in revenue from India and China.
